The Women’s Collective Philanthropy Program of the Ottawa Jewish Community Foundation invites you to a free public screening of Sheryl Sandberg’s documentary film, Screams Before Silence on the sexual violence committed by Hamas on October 7.

The evening will feature a special video message to the Ottawa community from filmmaker Sheryl Sandberg, former Meta COO and founder of Leanin.org.

The program will begin with a performance from Ottawa’s Musica Ebraica choir. A panel discussion will immediately follow the screening.

The film features never-before heard eyewitness accounts from released hostages, survivors, and first responders.

Free, in-person event.

Dr. Deirdre Butler, Director of the Zelikovitz Centre for Jewish Studies at Carleton University and Associate Professor of Religion (Jewish Studies) in the College of Humanities at Carleton University. 

Dr. Peggy Kleinplatz, Ottawa psychologist and professor in the Faculty of Medicine at the University of Ottawa.
