Adult Program & Cultural Programs Manager

Reporting to the VP of Programming & Engagement, the Adult Education and Cultural Programs Manager is a key member of the SJCC’s team in charge of curating a diverse and exciting schedule of educational and cultural programming for adults.

The ideal candidate loves Jewish culture and tradition, is plugged into various cultural and arts networks, and loves to work in a dynamic and fast paced environment. As part of the SJCC’s engagement team, they will collaborate with colleagues to ensure that the JCC continues to be a central gathering place to build community through lifelong learning, recreation, wellness and cultural connection to Israel.

Responsibilities & Opportunities

Curation & Creation
• Develop creative program ideas and translate these ideas into successful adult program courses and activities. Plan all aspects of programs in the Judaic and general education areas.
• Identify new programs and/or events to help build membership and maintain a constituency of adults who are seeking cultural and social connection with the Jewish community.
• Evaluate programs to ensure they continue to evolve to meet the needs of the community.

Administration & Logistics
• Work within the departmental budget to ensure that once approved, it is adhered to through continuous monitoring and reporting.
• Coordinate all program logistics including hiring and supervision of lecturers or presenters, coordinating schedules, rooms and supplies, and the supervision of volunteers.
• Market programs throughout the year, including submission of appropriate information for the Program Guide.
• Engage in administrative tasks related to the programs.

• Adaptable and attuned to the changing needs and tastes of the community.
• Highly organized and able to manage multiple projects at once.
• Tech savvy and able to direct and support programs and events as required.

Qualifications
• University degree or relevant training.
• 4+ years of experience in the coordination of educational and cultural programming or relevant experience.
• Strong knowledge and understanding of Jewish arts, culture and traditions.
• Familiarity with Jewish Ottawa is an asset.
• Must be able to work on evenings and the occasional weekends as required.

Compensation
Salary will be commensurate with experience and hours worked. Medical and drug benefits package, free JCC membership, with free parking.
