3rd Annual Rabbi Bulka Chanukah Toy Drive

Join us again to cheer up hundreds of children over Chanukah with a beautiful gift. Toys will be brought to children affected by loss trauma, illness & special needs and abilities.

Join us in person to make Chanukah cookies and cards! Each family will create a special Chanukah package for a resident of Hillel Lodge and one to bring home for your own family. 
We're running this event twice to ensure plenty of distance. COVID-19 safety measures will be in place and proof of vaccination is required for those ages 12 & up.

Bring home the warmth and fun of the Festival of Lights! PJ Library Ottawa and the Soloway JCC Children's Department are pleased to offer Chanukah activity kits for $10 each. These kits are designed for one child, ages 3+ and include small pieces that may require adult supervision during assembly.

Enjoy latkas, donuts, Chanukah gelt and music. A special tribute to Rabbi Bulka Z’L, featuring a video presentation on giant screens with a video collage of Rabbi Bulka’s addresess at City Hall Menorah lightings throughout the years. The Menorah will be lit by the Finkelstein family, founders of the Finkelstein Chabad Jewish Centre. A project of the CSN Ottawa, sponsored by the Freeman family.

Ottawa-Wide Menorah Building Contest

Children, adults, families, and groups are building unique menorahs to show off their creativity throughout the month for this exciting competition. On Sunday November 28, we will showcase all the entries at a Zoom event and announce the winners. Zoom link will be emailed out to all registrants prior to the event. Amazing prizes like a hybrid bicycle, electric scooter, Foosball table, Lego sets, board games, and so much more will be given out for exceptional menorah designs.

Last year we cut edges with our homemade Chanu-SKI-ah! Let’s light it in an outdoor ensemble in the Hellenic Centre parking lot. There will be bundled up schmoozing, latkes to eat in our cars and festive music to warm the soul, even if our bodies are a bit cold.
