Building Understanding: Sky Woman and Chanukah

Inspired by the recommendations of the Truth and Reconciliation Commission, this Chanukah, Temple Israel will launch a series of programs of relationship-building and mutual learning together with Ottawa-area Indigenous peoples. We are honoured to be working with Dr. Kahente Horn-Miller, Assistant Professor in the School of Indigenous and Canadian Studies and Co-Director of the Centre for Indigenous Research, Language and Education at Carleton University. Dr. Horn-Miller's performance of Sky Woman is the first in the series.

If you’d like to enter the OrH Latke Competition, set aside at least three latkes in a heatable container identifed with your name and the word “contest”. Please list potluck and latke ingredients and let kitchen staff know whether your dish should be served hot or cold. Or Haneshamah will provide sour cream and applesauce.

Havdallah and Hanukkah with Makom Ottawa
