Are you interested in making a difference in the Ottawa Jewish community?
Whether you’re looking for a short or long term commitment, there are opportunities for you. Have a particular skill? Let us know! We’ll find a role that is rewarding and enjoyable for you.
The Ottawa Jewish Volunteer Center provides an entry point into the volunteer opportunities and resources in the community. From being a buddy to one of our community members with developmental disabilities, to donating several hours of your time to help an agency’s board redesign their marketing strategy, let us match you to a meaningful opportunity that best suits your needs and interests. Our community would not be the same without the tremendous support of our volunteers.

How Volunteer Matching Works:
Fill out a Volunteer Profile to outline your specific volunteer interests, skills and availability, and someone will contact and meet with you to find the perfect fit. Not happy with your placement? We will give you multiple opportunities until you find the most meaningful match.
Volunteering and Jewish Values: Why Volunteer?
Volunteering is an essential Jewish value. Rabbi Shimon says that there are 3 pillars that the world rests upon: Torah, Avodah (service), and Gemilut Chasidim (acts of kindness) Pirkei Avot 1:2.
Be part of the core Jewish responsibility to perform acts of “Tikkun Olam” to contribute to repairing the world, and supporting our community with action.
