EG Grants - Apply for up to $2K in Funding!


Are you a 22-45 year old with an innovative idea for the Ottawa Jewish community? If your answer is yes, you may be eligible for a grant to help fund your idea or project!


The Federation’s EG Grants Committee is accepting applications for up to $2,000!


Decisions are based on the following criteria:


  • Jewish Connection
  • Community Impact
  • Efficacy of Action Plan


The Application Process is as Follows:

  1. Fill out this application form. Your application must be filled out at least 6 weeks before your event/initiative will take place. Upload a budget which includes projected revenues and expenses. Provide at least 2 references.
  2. Upon completion of the application the Applicant will be contacted by the Chair of the EG Grants Selection Committee, Byron Pascoe, who may ask additional questions regarding the application. Applications will be reviewed by the EG Grants Selection Committee.
  3. The Committee Chair will inform the applicant whether the application was successful, and if successful, the amount of the grant allocation. An agreement between the Federation and the grant recipient will be provided to the applicant to review and sign.
  4. Upon successful completion of the event/initiative the grant recipient will provide the Federation with: Copies of receipts for event/initiative related costs marketing materials demonstrating that the Federation was clearly recognized for the provision of the grant funding, including print materials and social media marketing plan. As well as a completed and signed post-event/initiative survey.
  5. Within 14 days from when the above mentioned materials are received, a cheque for the approved funds with be issued to the grant recipient.

  • Shabbat @ Shopify: Shabbat dinner in the Market for young professionals.
  • Community Wide Chanukah Ball: Discounted tickets were subsidized for young adults wishing to attend the community wide event.
  • Single Dating Diva Workshop: Dating guru brought in to lead a workshop for singles on dating in the 21st century.
  • Bar/Bat Mitzvah Gala: Chabad program offering those who never had a bar or bat mitzvah the opportunity to do so in their later years.
  • Alpha Omega Ottawa: Fraternity for Jewish dentists in Ottawa.
  • Punk Jews: Film screening at ByTowne Cinema with Q&A from the Director.
  • Elevate Yoga & Gala: Yoga and gala organized to benefit Jewish Family Services.



  • Yom Ha’Atzmaut for Young Adults: Night out of eating, drinking, and dancing in honour of Israel’s birthday.
  • Tot Shabbat in the Glebe: Weekly gathering in the Glebe for toddlers to learn about Shabbat with a Jewish educator.
  • Limmud Ottawa: Jewish Multi-disciplinary arts festival.
  • Hillel Academy Softball and BBQ for Alumni: Softball game and BBQ for alumni of Hillel Academy.
  • Orleans Chanukah Party: Chanukah party for young adults and young families living in Orleans.
  • Rogers Park Band Concert: Havdalah concert put on by two young Jewish musicians from Chicago.
  • Shabbat Dinner with David Segal: Hillel Ottawa Shabbat dinner featuring guest speaker David Segal of David’s Tea.
  • Chabad Regional Shabbaton for Students Across Canada: Weekend Shabbat gathering for Chabad affiliated students from all across Canada.
