Toronto's Beyond the Pale returns to the Ottawa area with a show celebrating the release of their new album, RUCKUS on Borealis Records. This long-awaited follow up to 2009’s multi-award-winning album POSTCARDS, displays the virtuosic musicianship, meticulous dynamics, and exuberant energy for which BTP has become known in their nearly 20-year career. This instrumental tour de force balances genre-bending original compositions and inventive arrangements of traditional material, inspired by Klezmer and Balkan styles but informed by everything from jazz and chamber music to bluegrass and reggae. This exciting and seductive new album re-asserts BTP's reputation as one of Canada’s most innovative acoustic ensembles.
