The Centre for Holocaust Education and Scholarship (CHES) will commemorate 80 years since Kristallnacht this November with a special performance on one of the Violins of Hope.

Marking 80 years since Kristallnacht. Keynote address: Kristallnacht: The End of the Beginning and the Beginning of the End by Dr. Michael Berenbaum, one of the founders of the Holocaust Memorial Museum in Washington. Program includes a special performance by classical violinist Niv Ashkenazi playing a violin miraculously salvaged from the ashes of the Holocaust and lovingly restored by Israeli luthier Amnon Weinstein. The violin is one of 50 such instruments and this is the first time one is in Canada for a performance.
