We are seeking a dynamic and dedicated individual to develop and coordinate opportunities for Tamir participants to learn about, experience and enjoy Jewish life as full citizens through engagement within the Jewish community. This is a part-time position, working 20 hours per week, with some evening and weekend requirements. The position provides a competitive wage and benefits package. Core duties of the position include:
-Facilitate participation of individuals served by Tamir in Jewish life
-Coordinate special activities such as Jewish holiday and cultural celebrations in collaboration with Judaic Outreach program leaders
-Provide administrative support to the Tamir Neshama Choir, coordinate rehearsals and performance
-Forge new partnerships and opportunities for inclusion within the mainstream of the Jewish community.
-Comprehensive knowledge of and passion for Jewish life i.e. Shabbat, Jewish life cycles, holidays, Kashruth, other practices and observance;
-Experience developing and facilitating group programming;
-Strong ability to work collaboratively and interact closely with diverse groups in a highly social milieu;
-Involvement working with people with developmental disabilities or other human service populations is preferred;
-Formal education and training or related experience in Judaic Studies, Jewish community programming and group facilitation is considered an asset.
