Ottawa Talmud Torah announces new principal

Ottawa Talmud Torah Afternoon School is excited to introduce Rabbi David Rotenberg as our new principal. Rabbi Rotenberg is a native Ottawan who has been involved in both formal and informal Jewish Education in our community since returning to Ottawa in 2004. In addition to his work at Talmud Torah, Rabbi Rotenberg is a campus rabbi for Hillel Ottawa (Jewish Students’ Association) at both of Ottawa’s universities, and is a veteran of the local stand-up comedy circuit. As our school’s most senior teacher – bringing both valuable experience and a youthful vision to the job - he was the natural fit to take the reins as principal.

Under Rabbi Rotenberg’s leadership, Ottawa Talmud Torah Afternoon School remains committed to providing a strong, traditional Jewish education for all demographics within the Jewish community as we have done for over 80 years. Moving forward, our educational vision will be directed by three inter-related priorities: Knowledge, Engagement, and Connection. In short, we intend to give our students a deep, thorough understanding of our heritage, make Judaism come to life with hands-on learning and educational activities, and to create a sense of community among the students and parents as well as connecting our school community to the Ottawa Jewish community as a whole.
